Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed to improve the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students in Class VIII C at SMP Negeri 15 Mataram regarding the past simple in question form topic through the implementation of Flash Cards. Motivated by the students' low initial understanding of this material, the study employed a CAR method across two cycles. Each cycle encompassed planning, acting, observing, and reflecting stages. The research involved 34 students from Class VIII C. Data was collected via formative tests and documentation of learning activities, subsequently analyzed using quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes, increasing from a pre-cycle average of 41.93% to 79.4% in the first cycle, and reaching 100% in the second cycle. This indicates that the use of Flash Cards effectively facilitated the achievement of the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) of 75. The study concludes that the implementation of Flash Cards was effective to improve the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students in class C at SMP Negeri 15 Mataram during the 2024/2025 academic year.
