Abstract
Fungal diversity is an important component in maintaining ecosystem balance, especially in campus environments that have a variety of habitats such as soil, litter, and vegetation. This study aims to examine the diversity of macroscopic fungi on the main campus of the University of Bengkulu using the exploration method. The results showed that there were 25 genera found around the main campus of the University of Bengkulu, including Filoboletus, Trametes, Phallus, Marasmiellus, Irpex, Schizophyllum, Dacryopinax, Pluteus, Stereum, Ganoderma, Auricularia, Marasmius, Lentinus, Mycena, Parasola, Pycnoporus, Chlorophyllum, Rigidosporus, Gymnopus, Leucocoprinus, Nigroporus, Agaricus, Daldinia, Microporus, and Earliella. The findings indicate that the majority of macroscopic fungi found on the main campus of the University of Bengkulu are wood-decay fungi, which play a crucial role in ecosystem balance and the food chain, acting as decomposers. Furthermore, several macroscopic fungi found are edible fungi, potentially used as food ingredients. The results of this study indicate that the main campus of the University of Bengkulu serves as a habitat that supports the growth of macroscopic fungi. These findings can serve as a scientific information for further study of macroscopic fungi in Bengkulu in some fields, including conservation and sustainable macroscopic fungal bioprospecting.
