Implementasi Program Pendampingan Calistung dalam Peningkatan Literasi dan Numerasi Anak Usia Sekolah Dasar di SD GMIT Koro'oto, Desa Nekmese

Abstract

The literacy and numeracy assistance program is one of the efforts to improve the literacy and numeracy skills of elementary school students. This activity was carried out at SD GMIT Koro'Oto, Nekmese Village, as part of the Thematic Community Service Program (KKNT). The background of this activity was based on the low reading, writing, and arithmetic abilities of some students, as well as the lack of learning assistance and supporting instructional media. The purpose of this activity was to help improve students' basic skills through interactive and enjoyable learning. The implementation method consisted of three stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. The learning activities employed a learning-through-play approach by providing reading, writing, and arithmetic exercises, as well as coloring activities to enhance students' creativity. The results of the activity showed that the literacy and numeracy assistance program had a positive impact on improving students' literacy and numeracy skills. The students became more fluent in reading, gained a better understanding of basic arithmetic operations, and became more confident in participating in classroom learning. In addition, the activity increased students' interest and enthusiasm for learning because the learning process was conducted actively and enjoyably. This program also assisted teachers in supporting students who experienced learning difficulties. Therefore, the literacy and numeracy assistance program at SD GMIT Koro'Oto can serve as a form of community service that supports the improvement of the quality of basic education in Nekmese Village.
