Peningkatan Profesionalisme Guru Matematika melalui Pelatihan Modul Etnomatematika Berbasis RME (Realistic Mathematics Education)

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the professionalism of teachers as mathematics educators, particularly those involved in the SMP/MTS Mathematics MGMP in Melawi Regency, through training in RME (Realistic Mathematics Education)-based ethnomathematics modules. The background of this activity is the limited teaching materials used in schools, and the use of teaching materials that do not yet align with the characteristics and learning environment of the students. Teachers have not yet integrated the local cultural context into mathematics learning, making the learning process still abstract and less meaningful for students. The implementation of the activities includes socialization, delivery of material covering the use of RME-based ethnomathematics modules, the use of RME-based ethnomathematics modules, and concludes with a discussion. The evaluation results show that the participants' competence has improved, as indicated by the increase in final test scores compared to the initial test. In addition, this activity provides an overview of the application of mathematics learning using RME-based ethnomathematics modules through the culture present in Melawi Regency.
